Are you trying to get into a touch niche because you feel this niche is being underserved or you feel like you would be able to offer a lot of help to the people in that niche? If you are then you are in for a rude awakening. People in any type of niche are not just going to take advice from someone who has no history and no proof to back up what they are saying. In order for people to take you seriously they must feel like you know more then them.
It is very tough to do this, but there is one way you can get started and if you work it long enough you will be an expert in no time. I am talking about using forum to provide quality information that will make you come off as an expert.
Once you are able to be seen as an expert it will be easy for you to get people to join your lists, order products from you, and it may even lead to other opportunities you cannot see just yet. You must follow certain rules though if you hope to be successful with forums.
It is going to be crucial that you are authentic when you go into a forum for the first time. People are going to be able to sniff out a fake from a mile away. Your goal is to help out your niche right, so do that. Do not go into a niche forum right off of the bat and start talking like you are an expert. The reason that would be a bad idea is because people will challenge you.
People will ask questions that you will need to be prepared for. If you are not then you will get chewed out and no one will take you seriously again. It will be hard for you to go on other related niche forums as well, because a lot of people who frequent a popular niche forum are probably member of several others. If you try to enter another forum you will be exposed once again. So be authentic, and do not try to put on a persona when in a forum.
Use feedback to grow
Whenever someone tries to use forums to help themselves become an expert, what they do that hurts their cause is not taking the feedback they get seriously. Usually when you enter into a niche forum and start leaving threads the people in these forums are going to give you all the feedback you need in order for you to help them solve their problems.
This is an excellent chance for you to use this feedback to create a killer product that will address those needs. If you ignore them then you will create an inferior product that will probably have a high refund rate.
Only visit relevant forums
If you want to be seen as an expert, then it is going to be crucial for you to visit only niche related forums, no matter how little traffic some of them might get. I know you are going to be tempted to join forums that get high traffic, but it is going to hurt you.
I know what you are thinking, that no one will be able to tell it is you in other forums right? Well you would be surprised; a lot of who you are shows in your posts and threads. Forum regulars will be able to sniff you out.
Posting threads under the right categories
If you want to be seen as an expert then you cannot post your content or information only in the most highly trafficked parts of a given niche forum. This is going to make you look bad, because if the forum is highly visited then your posts are going to be moved to the right section or even worse it will be deleted. When this happens others will be able to see it, and they will question other threads you decide to post in the future.
Research what you say
If you want to be seen as an expert in your niche by using forums then you must make sure you are able to offer proof of everything you say. Offering strong proof from credible resources is the best way to let people know that you are serious. Once people recognize that you put in the time and effort to do research they will listen to what you have to say, and you will get a ton of traffic to your threads. This is going to lead to more overall traffic from your website.
If you follow what I have said in this article you will be seen as an expert in your niche in no time. Forums offer the best chance to do this, but they can also offer the best chance for you to hurt your cause if you do not take it seriously. So don’t make that mistake, do research, contribute, and make sure you get your foot in the door before you try anything else.
