This method works great to help build a list, because the product can be offered for free, and because it once was so popular it will be easy to reference.
Creating a buyers list
This method of creating a list is dependent upon you getting as many people to buy a product from you as possible. You want to come up with something that will have high value to the people in your niche, but you want to make it an irresistible offer. You might price it for just a few bucks just to work up a buying frenzy. The purpose of this method is to get as many people to buy from you as possible so you can have a good buyers list.
In order to utilize this method you do no need to have a product that will blow peoples socks off. What you want is a product that offers enough value and is easily worth it for the small amount of money you will charge. People who buy from you, even if it is just a small amount of money will most likely buy from you again in the future. And what makes this method even better is they will probably spend more money with you.
Creating buzz with content
You can use this method to build you list quite quickly. The tactic here is to utilize blogs, forums and article directories to create entertaining content that will make people want to join your list. You must always make sure the content is going to have something that creates a strong spark of interest in the people who will be reading it. So a good idea would be to do some homework first to see what subjects get a particular niche going.
